Hello Mr. Scott. You have wonderful pictures. I would like to use one of your images from the bamboo forests to put on a big wall in Second Life to block and ugly view. Is that okay? I would also like to use some of your other pictures to make screens to sell in Second Life. We have a group that supports Pandas International. Any money we made would go to them. Is that okay with you? Please e-mail me back if it is.

Thank you very much.

Hi Hanlon,

I assume you are joking about the post? This was one of my first ones, trying to get the look and feel of the site down. I was playing around with how to display pictures in the blog, too (if you click on the picture, a larger one will show up in a new window. If you click anywhere in the new picture, it will go away). But, I got over doing this for all the pictures, since it required some extra work. I just increased the size of the pictures in the blog itself and gave a link on most posts to the picutre gallery for that day on the (Google) Picasa site.

Have a good one,

Scott

Hi Scott,
What a fabulous website - thanks for sharing so much of your experience and photos! None of us currently here at Bamboo Sourcery have been to China, so we're all quite envious, of course.

Bamboo Sourcery is a bamboo farm and nursery with over 300 species of bamboo for landscaping, located north of San Francisco. We also have a large website at bamboosourcery.com. We love your Bamboo Forest photo of what I think is Phyllostachys nigra 'Henon,' and have downloaded it. But we want to check with you first: we would love to put this photo on our website along with our species description, if that would be ok with you. We could give you credit, if you wish. So please let us know.

Thanks again - enjoyed the tour!

Again! This is my favorite one! When I lived in Shanghai, I went to Suzhou 3 times, just for this garden! Actually, 'zhuo' doesn't mean 'humble'. It means 'clumsy, stupid, or slow'...but the person who use this word to define themselves are humble. Anyway, in Chinese culture, clumsy isn't a 100% bad thing.
I love Chinese gardens, because they combine nature and human habitat together, as if we are in the arms of nature. Unlike Japanese gardens, Chinese ones are more natural, because the artificial gardens won't make people feel really relaxed.
